Announce 2009 Scholarship Availability

The Alabama-Tennessee Trail of Tears Corridor Association® in conjunction with the U.S. Space & Rocket Center® in Huntsville, AL. is offering a Parent/Child Space Camp® weekend camp to a Native American child. This allows for two (2) people: one adult and one child to attend the weekend program. Camp programs are designed for specific age categories; therefore children must be between the ages of 7 and 12 at the time of attendance. The program includes meals, lodging, educational programs and materials for all camp attendees. In addition attendees will receive team t-shirts, team photo, camp graduation wings and certificates, each person will be provided their choice of a flight suit or a clothing package which includes a program t-shirt, shorts, sweat shirt, sweat pants, and a duffle bag. Neither transportation nor airfare is included.

To win you must write a short essay on "Why I want to attend Space Camp® in 2009". The essay must be 200 words.

THE DEADLINE IS September 5, 2009. ANY POSTMARK AFTER MIDNIGHT OF THIS DATE WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.

To qualify you must:
1. Provide proof of membership in a Native American Tribe
2. Be between the ages of 7 and 12 years
3 Have a parent or guardian at least 19 years of age that is available to attend with you.

The winner will be asked to come to Waterloo, Alabama (September 19, 2009) the day of the 2009 16th Annual Trail of Tears Commemorative Motorcycle Ride® to accept this award and meet with both the ATTOTCAI Board of Directors and a Space Camp® Representative.
